Charles L. Johnson, age 86 of Batesville died Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was born February 3, 1924 at Wichita, Kansas to Charlie and Mable Silor Johnson. He was a U.S. Army World War II Veteran, retired in 1986 from Arkansas Power and Light in Batesville and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Batesville.He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Connie Amoros.Survivors include his wife, Doris Marie Johnson of the home, son, Larry Johnson of Batesville, three sisters, Pearl Stone of Burk Burnett, Texas, Goldie Sandy and Betty Wilson, two grandsons, Kevin Johnson and Michael Johnson, four great grandchildren, Austin Johnson, Cody Kramer, Hallie Kramer and Taryn Beard all of Batesville, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Sunday, January 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service with Rev. Jeff Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee's Chapel Cemetery located in the Gainesboro Community with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.Visitation will be Saturday, January 22, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Lee Earnheart, Mark Miller, Junior Miller, Jeremy Robertson, Jason Robertson and Bryan Dickey.
