Mabel Scoggin, age 87 of Batesville died Saturday, February 12, 2011 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born April 5, 1923 at Bald Knob, Arkansas the daughter of Rashie and Martha Whitney. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, one daughter, Edith Scoggin, two brothers, Bill Hunter and A. D. Hunter, three sisters, Betty Rouse, Bonnie Heslet and Dorothy Lungar.Survivors include one son, James Neal Scoggin of Batesville, two daughters, Linda Linsner of Portage, Indiana and Margaret McDougal of Batesville, eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Graveside services will begin Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kyler Cemetery located at Southside. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.No visitation is planned.
