Don Harris

Don Harris, age 53 of Newport, formerly of Batesville died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Jonesboro. He was born October 9, 1957 at Pleasant Plains, Arkansas to John and Betty Brokaw Harris. He worked at several different poultry companies as a sanitary supervisor and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was of the Pentecostal faith.He was preceded in death by his wife Debbie Harris, father, John Harris and brothers, Ronnie Harris and Steve Davis.Survivors include four sons, Anthony Harris of Westville, Oklahoma, Adam Harris of Bryant, Matthew Strickland of Oak Grove Kentucky and John Harris of Higbee, Missouri, one daughter, Amy Teague of Batesville, mother, Betty White of Batesville, five brothers, one sister, ten grandchildren many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Friday, March 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Ricky Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery located in the Hutchison Mountain Community with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.Visitation will be Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Anthony Harris, Matthew Harris, Matthew Strickland, Andrew Harris, John Harris and Michael Bruce Harris.Honorary pallbearers will be James Harris Jr., Justin Easter, Scotty Harris, Ricky Harris, John Harris and Michael Harris.
