Jetta Loretta Carr

Jetta Loretta (Nored) Carr, age 94 of Greers Ferry died Friday, May 27, 2011 at her home. She was born October 27, 1916 at Shiloh, Arkansas, the 5th child of William Rufus and Vita Murphree Nored, a pioneer family. She married Floyd Carr October 29, 1938. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Greers Ferry. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and a past Worthy Matron of the Lakeview Chapter 609.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Floyd Carr, brother John Daulton Nored and sister Etta Nored Lafferty.Survivors include her son Jerry Carr and wife Kathy of Greers Ferry, daughter, Tura Jean Carr Evans of Diaz, two sisters, Lucy Nored Verser of Mountain View and Hester Nored Carr of Greers Ferry, five grandchildren, LeAnn Evans Holmes and husband Price of Batesville, Beverly Evans Morrison and husband Steve and Wendy Rushing and husband Phil all of Springdale, Terry Wayne Carr and wife Juanice and Randy DeLynn Carr and wife Donna all of Greers Ferry, fourteen great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Sunday May 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church on Brownsville Road near Greers Ferry with Greg Carr officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.Visitation will begin Saturday, May 28, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons: Aaron Carr, Devin Carr, Cory Carr, Terry Carr, Randy Carr, Asa Carr, Price Holmes III, Joseph Rushing, John Morrison and Christopher Brock.
