Jerry Wade Phelps

Jerry Wade Phelps, age 81 of Batesville died Sunday, June 12, 2011 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was born July 28, 1929 at Batesville, Arkansas to Walter and Minnie Wade Phelps. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 26 years of service and also retired from White Rodgers in Batesville. He enjoyed his family and golf and was of the Methodist faith.He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Michael Phelps and brother, Wally Phelps.Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Lillian Phelps of the home, son, Jerry Phelps Jr. of Rogers, step son, Lewis Swaim of Locust Grove, daughter, Patricia Phelps of Texas, sister, Patricia Costa of St. Louis, Missouri, grandson, Ben Swaim, two great grandchildren, Noah Swaim and Ryleigh Swaim all of Batesville and a host of other relatives and friends.Graveside services will begin Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville with Billy Huff officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.Visitation will be Tuesday, June 14, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
