Norman Johnson age 87, loving father, brother and grandfather, went too be with our Lord on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Arkansas Hospice in Little Rock. He was born on January 20, 1924 in Emery, Arkansas to the late James B. Johnson and Minnie Pearl Johnson. He was preceded in death by three wives, Warren Dene Johnson (mother of his sons), Verbyl Battles Johnson and Bernice Hogan Johnson; one brother, Tommy Johnson and one sister, Pearline Sowell.Norman served in the United States Army in Hawaii during WWII. He was retired from the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration. He also served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher in several Missionary Baptist churches in Arkansas, helped start mission churches in Mexico and also served as a volunteer for White County Memorial Hospital. Norman enjoyed traveling, going to family reunions, and a good flea market. He will be remembered for his steadfast faith in Christ and his love for his family.Norman is survived by two sons, Keith Johnson (Ann) and Dennis Johnson (Cheryl); grandchildren, Christopher Johnson (Dawn), Jacob Johnson, Christina Johnson, all of Conway and Lauren Johnson Silas (Aaron) of Batesville. He is also survived by three brothers, James B. Johnson of Searcy, Hiram Johnson of Vilonia and Harry Johnson of Parkville, Missouri and three sisters, Nina Westmoreland of North Little Rock, Ann Sullivan of Walnut Ridge and Glenna Cochran of Warrenington, Missouri.Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 14, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City with Bro. Danny Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in the Cave City Cemetery with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.Visitation will be held Tuesday June 14, 2011 at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
