Wanda Barker, age 90 of Batesville died Monday, July 18, 2011 at a Batesville hospital. She was born May 4, 1921 at Leachville, Arkansas to Charles and Mittie Hedge Moye. She was a homemaker, enjoyed needle pointing, quilting, playing bingo, fishing, bird watching and her dog. She was of the Baptist faith.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles Wilburn Barker, great grandson, Jerry Riley and six sisters.Survivors include nine children, Virgil Tarkington of Jacksonville, Tom Tarkington of Fort Smith, Carl W. Barker Sr. of Sulphur Rock, Sue Wilson of Holland, Michigan, Charles Barker, Bonnie Nance, Bill Barker and Margaret Jones all of Batesville and Wilma Matthews of Viola, Arkansas, 21 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Bobby Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in the Sulphur Rock Cemetery with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.Visitation will be Wednesday, July 20, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Michael Taylor, John Covington, Clay Barker, Raymond Douglas, Chuck Barker, Jermey Jones and Teddy Dillinger.Honorary pallbearers are Tyler Vannattan and Dr. Robert Walton.
