Elsie Edith Davis

Elsie Edith Davis, 95, of Pleasant Grove died Monday, July 25, 2011, at Mountain View.Born March 31, 1916, at Reyno, she was the daughter of William Stanley and Cora Dell Greenway Younger. She was the oldest active member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church.Survivors include two sons, Billy Davis of Pleasant Grove and Jerry Davis of Melrose; a daughter, Linda Burns of Pleasant Grove; four grandchildren, Dale Davis and Carla Davis, both of Pleasant Grove, Cheryl Annette Cook of Locust Grove and Carrie Sutton of Melrose; 11 great-grandchildren, Joey Cook and Justin Cook, both of Mountain View, Jeremy Davis of Marcella, Kyle Davis of Locust Grove, Colby Sutton, Kinze Sutton and Camry Sutton, all of Melrose, and Megan Magness, Mark Davis, Michael Davis and Hannah Davis, all of Pleasant Grove; seven great-great-grandchildren, Ladd Cook, Lincoln Cook, Rider Cook and Mylee Jo Cook, all of Mountain View, Eli Davis and Addison Davis, both of Marcella, and Jonah Magness of Pleasant Grove; a brother, Sam Younger of St. James; and several nephews and nieces.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years, Mark Davis; a brother; and three sisters.The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Pleasant Grove with Gary Don Fletcher and Joey Cook officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery under the direction of Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.Pallbearers will be Jeremy Davis, Justin Cook, Kyle Davis, Mark Davis, Michael Davis and Kenze Sutton.Honorary pallbearer is Colby Sutton.Visitation will be Thursday, July 28, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. untill 8:00 p.m.
