Opal DeFreece age 93 of Batesville died Sunday August 28, 2011 at the Wood Lawn Nursing Home in Batesville. She was born March 27, 1918 at Evening Shade, Arkansas to Sanford and Lou Ring. She was a homemaker and a member of the Harrison Street Church of Christ in Batesville.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Doyle DeFreece; one infant daughter, Barbara Ann Qualls and three brothers, Chester Ring, Otho Ring and A.C. Ring; three great grandchildren, Maranda Estes Verser, Joseph Thomas and Dustin Lee Webb.Survivors include two sons, Thomas Qualls of Evening Shade and J.W. Qualls of Batesville; one daughter, Anna Joyce Webb of Clinton; fourteen grandchildren; forty-four great grandchildren; twenty-three great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Wednesday August 31, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City. Burial will follow in the Evening Shade Cemetery located at Evening Shade with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.Visitation will begin Tuesday August 30, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be D.L. Webb, Jeff Qualls, Jeremy Qualls, Joey Qualls, Aaron Estes and Tommy Muston.
