Willis 'Max' Wycough age 70 of Batesville died Wednesday August 31, 2011 at a Little Rock hospital. He was born August 17, 1941 at Batesville, Arkansas to Willis Butler and Winnie Jasmine (Claxton) Wycough. He retired after 28 years of service as an agent with Farm Bureau and was a security officer. He loved God, was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was a longtime member of the North Heights Church of Christ in Batesville where he served as a deacon for 19 years. He worked for 21 summers at the reservation with Navajo and Hopi Indians. He enjoyed sports and pheasant hunting.He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandmother, Edna Wycough and a brother, Freddy Joe Wycough.Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Rita Jeanne Anderson Wycough of the home, son Jeremy Alan Wycough and wife Charity of Locust Grove, two daughters, Angela Dawn Davis and husband Mark and Amy Suzanne Plaster and husband Darren all of Batesville, sister, Rebecca Ann James of Batesville, four grandchildren, Sawyer Strother of Floral, Macy Davis and Reagan Davis both of Batesville and Shelby Wycough of Locust Grove, one nephew, Blake Wycough of Batesville and many other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be Saturday, September 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the North Heights Church of Christ in Batesville with Steve Norris and Keith Harris officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery located in Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.Visitation will be Friday, September 2, 2011 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Don Rummel, James Smith, Gary Rhodes, Jim WIlliams, Danny Garner, Chuck Hix and Rod Wood.Honorary pallbearers are the Deacons of North Heights Church of Christ, David Parker and Robert Thomas, Mike Claxton, Jimmy Claxton, Doug Adams, Benny Adams, Dale James and Ralph Wallis.
