Alverda Staggs Harris

Alverda Staggs Harris, age 84 of Hot Springs (formerly of Batesville) died Saturday, September 3, 2011 at a Hot Springs nursing home. She was born January 12, 1927 at Cave City, Arkansas to Coy Leslie and Daisy Elizabeth Sugg Staggs. She was retired from International Shoe Factory in Batesville and a member of the Allen Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Batesville.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jarrell Harris and a son Steve Harris.Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Susie Harris of Hot Springs; one brother, Coy Vaughn Staggs of Concord, California; one sister, Opal Sturch of Batesville; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Allen Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Tim Landers officiating. Burial will follow in the Egner Cemetery located at Salado with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of BatesvilleVisitation will begin Tuesday, September 6, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Ted Biggers, Keith Sturch, Fred Reinhardt, David White, Mike Branscum, Fred Denison and Bob White.
