Ruth C. Hayes

Ruth C. Hayes, age 92 of Batesville died Monday, October 10, 2011 at a Batesville nursing home. She was born March 30, 1919 in Orange, New Jersey to Salvatore and Catherine Nesta Renga. She was retired having worked at Van Atkins, Miller's Fabric and Marshall's Fabric all in Batesville. She enjoyed cooking and giving baked goods to friends and family and sewing. She was a member of the Central Avenue Methodist Church in Batesville.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William E. Hayes Sr., five brothers and one sister.Survivors include one son Ellis Hayes of Charlotte, one sister, Lucy Klonowski of Hazelton, Pennsylvania, three grandsons, Scott Hayes of Zion, Illinois, Ryan Hayes and Bart Hayes, three great grandchildren, Hallie Hayes, Hunter Hayes and Taylor Hellums all of Charlotte, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Paul Seay officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery located at Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.No visitation is planned.Pallbearers will be Larry Bentley, Boris Dover, Eddie Haskins, Raymond Haskins, Chad McClure and Cliff Whittemore.
