Esthel Crews

Esthel Crews, age 95 of Saffell died Thursday, October 27, 2011 at a Cave City nursing home. She was born May 24, 1916 at Pocahontas, Arkansas to Frank and Claudia (Crays) Davidson. She was a homemaker, enjoyed yard sales, crocheting, baking, visiting the sick and family gatherings. She was the oldest living member of the Mt. Harmony Free Will Baptist Church in Saffell.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Cecil 'Buss' Crews, a son, Henry Ray Crews, one brother, Jim Davidson and one sister Teddy Mae Burchfield.Survivors include one grandson, Jackie Crews and wife Wendy of Saffell, one granddaughter, Resa Bolin and husband Todd of Batesville, three great grandchildren, Tyler Ray Crews of Evening Shade, Lindsey Renee Crews of Saffell and Stephanie Rae Bolin of Batesville, one great great grandson, Austin Blane Crews of Evening Shade, her daughter-in-law Clara Nell Crews of Saffell, one nephew, Jerry Burchfield of Little Rock and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at the Mt. Harmony Free Will Baptist Church in Saffell with Bro. Stanley Vandergrift and Jerry Burchfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery located at Saffell with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.Visitation will be Saturday at the church from 12:00 noon until service time. Pallbearers will be Lavon Huskey, Scotty Huskey, Anthony Crabtree, Jody Doyle, Kenny Digman and Brad Maxwell.Honorary pallbearers are Morris Reaves Jr., Jane Reaves, James Mize, Ruth Mize, Jimmy Crabtree, Eugene Mann and Dr. Ron Bates.
