James E. Kapales II, age 80 of Pocahontas died Monday, October 31, 2011 at Batesville. He was born November 17, 1930 at Hoxie, Arkansas to James Eugene Kapales Sr. and Bertha Mae Ward Kapales. He was a U. S. Army National Guard veteran, retired from the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department and a farmer. He enjoyed his family and working on his farm. He was a member of the Church of Christ.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Aileen A. Kapales, two brothers, William Leo Kapales and Ervin 'Dutch' Kapales, three sisters, Evelyn Thau, Ina Parker and Margaret Miller and one infant sister, Helen Kapales and one grandson Bobby James Knatcal.Survivors include one son, James Eugene Kapales III of Walnut Ridge, four daughters, Sharon Holmes of Richardson, Texas, Karen Knatcal and Patsy House both of Batesville and Aleta Sue Spencer of Sebring, Florida, one sister Christine McCarrol of Chesterfield, Indiana, fifteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Private family memorial services will be held at a later date.
