William Rex Gaither

William Rex Gaither, age 81 of Cave City died Thursday, December 29, 2011 at a Batesville hospital. He was born January 20, 1930 at Sidney, Arkansas to Virgil and Mae Phillips Gaither. He was a U. S. Army veteran, retired from Firestone in Noblesville, Indiana and enjoyed watching Nascar and sports. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cave City.He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Kathy Sue Gaither.Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth 'Beth' Gaither of the home, one brother, Boyce Gaither of Yelm Washington, one nephew, Jimmy Gaither of Texas and one niece Debbie Gaither Anderson of Washington and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be Monday, January 2, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Cave City with Rev. Roger Hook officiating. No graveside services are planned. Arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.Visitation will be Monday, January 2, 2012 from 12:00 noon until service time at the Church.Honorary pallbearers are Darrell Shreve, Don McSpadden, Chris Shreve, Scott McSpadden, Eric Shreve, John McSpadden, Terry Weaver and Mike McSpadden.In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 501 AR 115, Cave City, AR 72521
