J. U. Norton

J.U. Norton Jr. age 85 of Drasco died Thursday December 29, 2011 at his home. He was born April 24, 1926 at Wolf Bayou, Arkansas to Jacob Upton and Mary Alta Ward Norton. He was a retired farmer and of the Christian faith.He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers. Doyne Norton, Loy Norton, Leon Norton, Hoy Norton and Faye Norton.Survivors include his wife, Daurice Barker Norton of the home; one son, Dr. Morgan Norton of Batesville; two daughters, Kim Barks of Drasco and Ellen Duke of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Silas Duke and Sadie Duke both of Little Rock and Jacob Norton of Batesville; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Graveside services will begin Saturday December 31, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oak Grove Cemetery located at Wolf Bayou with Wade Althen officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville.No visitation is planned.
