Harold B. Harris, age 87 of Batesville died Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was born November 21, 1924 at Sheridan, Arkansas to James Thomas and Ora Morris Harris. He was U. S. Navy veteran having served during World War II, a retired police officer in Benton Harbor, Michigan and a member of the Allen Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.He was preceded in death by his parents, one son David Harris, one daughter Deanna Harris, three brothers, Gerald Harris, Raymond Harris and Burnell Harris, two sisters, Imogene Bridgman and Ferry Harris.Survivors include his wife, Betty Harris of the home, one sister Joann Baker of Fort Smith, four grandchildren, Shannon Murphy and Callie Harris both of Benton Harbor, Michigan, Sean Harris of Seattle, Washington and Heather Harris of France, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Graveside services will begin Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the New Hope Cemetery located near Bethesda with Bro. Tim Landers officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.No visitation is planned.
