Bernice Crow Palmer, age 77 of Batesville died Thursday, January 19, 2012 at a Batesville hospital. She was born January 4, 1935 at Cave City, Arkansas to William C. 'W.C.' and Opal Crabtree Crow. She served as a missionary to the Ivory Coast in Africa for 43 years. She retired from the White River Medical Center in Batesville where she worked as a registered nurse. She was a member of the Bethel Free Will Baptist Church in Allen, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother L. D. Crow.Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Lonnie Palmer Jr. of the home, two sons, Lonnie Stephen Palmer of Ivory Coast, Africa, Martin Stanley Palmer of Columbia, Kentucky, two daughters, Kathleen Pittman of Norman, Oklahoma and Marion Elaine Patterson of Shallow Water, Texas, two sisters, Nina Rhuedene Alberani of Livonia, Michigan and Lela Landers of Tulsa, Oklahoma, eleven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Monday, January 23, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. Jimmy Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery located at Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.Visitation will be Sunday, January 22, 2012 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Josh Palmer, Clifford Butler, Gary Lynch, Leon Landers, Steve Patterson and Tommy Clark.
