Mable Plyna Dorris

Mable Plyna Dorris, age 93 of Poughkeepsie died Friday, January 27, 2012 at a Batesville hospital. She was born March 9, 1918 at Mountain Home, Arkansas to Andrew Green and Ellar Grant Carson. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith. She enjoyed gardening, yard work, camping, boating and canning.She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Cyrus Dorris and John Thomas Beasley, one son Leon Dorris, one grandson, William Leon Dorris Jr., one granddaughter, Shelaine Dorris, two infant great granddaughters, Jasmine Riggs and Whitney Riggs, three sisters, Della Carson, Maudie Stringfellar and Ivy Carson and one brother, Johnny Carson.Survivors include three sons, Andy Dorris of Mountain View, Gene Dorris of Poughkeepsie and Johnny Beasley of Poughkeepsie, four daughters, Florence Gann, Arlene Dorris and Marshalene Riggs all of Poughkeepsie and Margaret Dillinger of Harrisburg, one sister Coy Foster of Mountain Home, 29 grandchildren, and many great and great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be Monday, January 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. Terry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery located east of Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers are David Dillinger, Ronnie Dillinger, Jerry Riggs, Michael Riggs, Robert Davis and Keith Beasley.Honorary pallbearers are Paul Dillinger, Casey Beasley, Jeffrey Riggs, Danny Dorris, Gary Dorris, Jason Dorris, Tim Gann, Joe Gann, Vernon Gann and Little Jerry Riggs.
