Virgil V. Hix, age 71 of Batesville died Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at a Little Rock hospital. He was born August 1, 1940 at Batesville, Arkansas to Winford and Minnie Cossey Hix. He graduated September of 1960 from beauty school in Batesville and later became owner/operator of Virgil's Hair Styling in Batesville. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in the Gainsboro Community where he served as a Deacon and Pianist. He was a U. S. Army National Guard veteran.He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jerry Hix, and one niece Mary Lewallen.Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Deleca Martin Hix of the home, two brothers, Joe Hix of Batesville and Wayne Hix of Tenion, Washington, three sisters, Elveda Brister, Wanda Tuten and Glenda James all of Batesville and several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Friday, February 17, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Chris James and Bro. Dennis Green officiating. Burial will follow in the Tunstall Cemetery located on Walnut Grove Road near Sulphur Rock. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.Visitation will be Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Shayne Goforth, Ray Hix, Ellis Tuten, Chris Archer, Jon Michael Manning and Edgar Shields.Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Tuten, Keith James, Jake Archer, Steve Clem and Scott Hix.
