Dinah Holmes Haertlein, age 61 of McHue died Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at her home. She was born April 26, 1950 at Chicago, Illinois to Kenneth and Sharon Acton Holmes. She was a public school teacher and administrator for 40 years; 38 of those years were in Concord and Southside public schools. She enjoyed her teaching years, her students and co-workers. She was always trying to find ways to help children and families. She obtained many grants that helped further education and better her community. She greatly enjoyed her family and friends. She was a member of the Faith-Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Batesville where she taught the adult Sunday school class. She enjoyed learning and teaching others about God's word. She was preceded in death by her father and two sisters, Pamela Joan Holmes and Janine Holmes.Survivors include her beloved husband of 35 years, Richard Jerry Haertlein of Batesville, two children, Richard Kenneth Haertlein and wife Lacey and Sarah Haertlein Lermitte and husband Lowen, three adored grandchildren, Eli J. W. Dockins, Lilly M. Haertlein and Heidi C. Lermitte all of Batesville, her mother Sharon Acton Holmes of McHue, a brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Nita Holmes of Bryn Athyn, Pennsylvania, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Pat Watkins of Batesville, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rickey and Carolyn Reynolds of Sandtown; several nephews and nieces including Kevin and Becky Watkins, Shanne Reynolds, Travis Reynolds, Jenica and Volkan Andic, Brennan Holmes, Kian and Allison Holmes and Blake Holmes as well as great nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Friday, March 2, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Faith-Hopewell Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Batesville with Rev. Alan Meinzer officiating. Burial will follow in the Egner Cemetery located at Salado with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.Visitation will be Thursday, March 1, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Dennis Stevens, Edie Webb, Donald Anderson, Greg Clark, John Fulcher and Nathan Grant.Honorary pallbearers are her Sunday School Class and Roger Rich.In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Faith-Hopewell Presbyterian Church, Arkansas Children's Hospital or St. Jude's Hospital.
