F.T. 'Grumpy' Bunch, age 64 of Cord died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 near Lake Norfork in Mountain Home. He was born December 27, 1947 at Memphis, Tennessee. He retired as an air traffic controller from the U.S. Navy after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Cord Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher and served on several church committees. He was a volunteer fireman for the Cord Fire Department and served on the Cord Water Board. He was co-owner of From The Beginning CHMS in Cave City and Ash Flat. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and water sports at Lake Norfork.He was preceded in death by his parents, W.L. Bunch and Barbara E. Cupp and his granddaughter, Mariah Chiree' Bunch. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Sherry Bunch of the home, one son, Andrew Bunch of Cord, one daughter, Lisa LaBecca Firth of Poquoson, Virginia, his step-mother, Louise Bunch of Newark, three brothers, W.L. Bunch Jr. of Trenton, South Carolina, Donald Wayne Bunch and Richard Bunch both of Newark, one sister, Leona Hinkley of LaJunta, Colorado, five grandchildren, Franklin Bunch of Cord, Josh Bunch of Phoenix, Arizonia, Wade Firth of Poquoson, Virginia, Adria Makeley of Satsuma, Alabama and Jamie Firth of Poquoson, Virginia, five great grandchildren and many other family and friends.A visitation will be held Monday, March 12, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Cord Baptist Church. A private graveside service will be held at Hopewell Cemetery in Cord with Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.Pallbearers are Michael Bunch, Jonathan Bunch, Clark Hinkley, Leonard Hinkley, Jaron Hinkley and Nate Robinson.
