Carmelita Kirksey Roper

Carmelita Kirksey Roper, age 86 of AshFlat, formerly of Imboden and Batesville, died Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Mountain Home. She was born October 7, 1925 at Jonesboro, Arkansas to Edward Bert and Alice Louise Keller Kirksey.She ran the Sandtown Grocery Store in the 1960's and 70's and also had been in retail management. Her main job was family mananger and cook for the home.She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Roper, her parents, a son John Edward Roper, a granddaughter, Sara Dawn Roper, two brothers Jimmy Kirksey, Wilburn Kirsey and one sister Dayle Kirksey Looper.Survivors include two sons, James Patrick Roper of Cave City and Paul Michael Roper of Ashburn, Virginia, two grandchildren, John Logan Roper and Christina Michelle Roper both of Ashburn, Virginia and several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Graveside services will be held Monday, March 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery located north of Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. No visitation is planned.
