Velma Wooldridge Howard, age 92 of Cave City died Friday, March 16, 2012 at a Batesville hospital. She was born November 12, 1919 at Cave City, Arkansas to James E. and Lillie Ann Wooldridge. She retired after 24 years from the International Shoe Factory in Batesville and was a seamstress, enjoyed her family and reading. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Taylor Howard, a son, Gary Taylor Howard and one sister Eara Lee Nicholson.Survivors include one daughter, Diane Howard Wilkes of Cave City, 2 grandsons, Barry A. Wilkes and Brandt Wilkes both of Cave City, two granddaughters, Susannah Vincent of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Julie Fillingim of Tampa, Florida, two great grandsons, Mattheu Allen of Kendall, Florida, Josh Petkovich of Tampa, Florida, two great granddaughters Mariah Petkovich of Tampa, Florida and Houston Allen of Batesville and one cousin, Norma Jean Gammill of Cave City and many other friends.Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Cave City with Bro. StanleyVandergrift and Rev. Roger Hook officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount View Cemetery located east of Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.Visitation will be Tuesday, March 20, 2012 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Church Pallbearers are Warren Willette, Cody Vincent, Jack Wallis, Josh Petkovich, Eugene Heath and Joey Carpenter.Honorary pallbearers are Barry A. Wilkes, Brandt Wilkes, John Fillingim, Mattheu Allen, John Yoshita, Congregations of the Mount Harmony Free Will Baptist Church and First United Methodist Church.
