Darrell R. Gibbs

Darrell R. Gibbs, age 66 of Batesville died Sunday, April 8, 2012 at a Batesville hospital. He was born December 29, 1945 at the Cave Creek Community to Lawrence Jackson and Mary Alice (St. John) Gibbs. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, was a retired farmer and custodian for the Batesville School District and enjoyed hunting. He was a member of the Peaceful Harbor Pentecostal Church of God located on Main Street, north of BatesvilleHe was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Gene L. Gibbs, Junior Gibbs and Don L. Gibbs.Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Kathy Gibbs of the home, one brother, Archie Gibbs of Batesville, two sisters, Ramona Rutledge of Batesville and Janice Beitler of Cave City, many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services will begin Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Peaceful Harbor Pentecostal Church of God located on Main Street, north of Batesville with Bro. Wally Varner officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee's Chapel Cemetery located at Sandtown with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.Visitation will be Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.Pallbearers will be Ronnie James, Tim Miles, Dale Briley, Jason Briley, Johnny Coles and Chris Williams.Honorary pallbearers are Carroll Lake, Christian Varner, Dewayne Coles and Wayne Gibbs.
