Donald E. Lewis, age 83 of Cave City died Thursday, April 12, 2012 at a Batesville hospital. He was born March 12, 1929 at San Francisco , California to Almon Earl and Marie Morgan Lewis. He was a retired U.S. Navy veteran having served in World War II , Korea and Vietnam wars. He had ministered at the Chinquapin Church of Christ near Bethesda and later at the Antioch Church of Christ, his home church. He visited and ministered to the nursing home residents at the Woodlawn Nursing Home in Batesville, volunteered at the Batesville Help and Hope and served on the board of directors for 3 years and visited the sick at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. He had worked at Aerojet, Daniel's Construction and White Rodgers Co. all located at Batesville. He enjoyed his family and was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Mary 'Lee' Wigginton Lewis of the home, a daughter, Lois Lewis of Cave City and a brother, Charles Lewis of Samoa, California and a host of other friends and relatives. Funeral services will begin Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Antioch Church of Christ located southeast of Cave City with Royce Pendergrass and Troy Henley officiating. Burial will follow in the Young Cemetery located southeast of Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. No visitation is planned. Pallbearers will be John Wigginton, David Wigginton, Lee Wigginton, Don Henley, Curtis Goodrich and Wayne Sanders. Honorary pallbearers are Glen Hibbetts, Buford Maddox.
