James Doyle Cossey age 84 of Cave City died Sunday May 20, 2012 at his home. He was born January 15, 1928 at Charlotte, Arkansas to Ernest and Lucille Walton Cossey. He was a retired mold setting specialist, a church song leader for 25 years and enjoyed hunting as his hobby. He was a member of the Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Verle Cossey and Loyd Cossey and a nephew, J.R. James. Survivors include his wife, Clara Patterson Cossey of the home; one son, David Cossey of Cave City; three daughters, Ginger Sandy and Jean Cossey both of Cave City and Debbie Shaw of Batesville; one brother Clyde Cossey of Cave City; one sister, Helen Ernestine Riley of Batesville; seven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Wednesday May 23, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church located southeast of Cave City on Sunset Ridge Road with Carroll Kenley and John Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the James Family Cemetery located southeast of Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will begin Tuesday May 22, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Danny Sandy, Rick Shaw, Jason Patterson, Derrick Shaw, Canaan Sandy, Alex Cossey and David Cossey. Honorary pallbearers are, Kevin Cossey, Jim Sanders, John Sanders, Jack Sanders, Lynda Patterson, P.D. Wooldridge and Anita Huckabee.
