Sibyl Leon Girtman

Sibyl Leon Gay Girtman age 86 of Cave City died Wednesday June 27, 2012 in a Batesville hospital. She was born February 25, 1926 in the Big Creek Community near Cave City. She was the daughter of Joseph Elbert and Maxie Lee McCrackin Gay. She was a homemaker and a retired cook having worked at the Cave City School for 18 years. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, O.C. Girtman; a son, Michael Girtman; a granddaughter, Sherry Girtman and four brothers, Loren Gay, L.J. Gay, Alden Gay and an infant brother. Survivors include three sons; Charles Girtman of Eagle Lake, Texas, Dwayne Girtman of Cave City and Gaylon Girtman of Batesville; two daughters, Linda Girtman of Fayetteville and Regina Weve of Mt. Hope, Kansas; two sisters, Wreathel Wilkerson and Elline Davis both of Cave City; five grandchildren, Chad Riley of Stilwell, Oklahoma, Kevin Girtman of Elkins, Robert Banks of Olyphant, Amanda Girtman of Wichita, Kansas and James Weve of Hutchinson, Kansas; three great grandchildren, Brodrick Dwayne Girtman of Elkins, Daniel Banks and Shelby Banks both of Olyphant; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Saturday June 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro Dennis Gay and Bro. Keith Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery located east of Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will begin Friday June 29, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m Pallbearers will be Kevin Girtman, James Weve, Todd Price, Mike Price, Chad Riley and Robert Banks.
