Dortha Haigwood Qualls, age 91 of Batesville died Monday, July 23, 2012 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born April 24, 1921 at Sandtown, Arkansas to Hubert and Virgie Kelley Haigwood. She was a homemaker and a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses north congregation in Batesville. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Lee Qualls, one daughter, Jeanetta Yancey, three sisters, Beatrice Haigwood Huff, Donna Haigwood and Connie Haigwood and one great great grandchild, Taylor Cochrane. Survivors include one son, Boyd Qualls of Batesville, two brothers, Dewayne Haigwood of Manila and Jerry Haigwood of Arizona, eight grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, thirty-eight great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Friday, July 27, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses north congregation located on White Drive in Batesville with Paul Maples officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee’s Chapel Cemetery located at Sandtown with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will begin Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Robert Qualls, Joe Qualls, Danny Qualls, John Qualls, Will Qualls and Tim Qualls. Honorary pallbearers are Brandon Benoit, Heath Yancey, James Bunn, Phillip Yancey, Thomas Bunn, Timothy Bunn, Brandon Bunn, Johnny Vick and Buster Cochrane.
