Velma Rae Martin Prince

Velma Rae Martin Prince, age 80 of Batesville died Friday, July 27, 2012 at a Batesville hospital. She was born July 12, 1932 at Rosie, Arkansas to Robert Baber and Emma Ballard Martin. She retired from ConAgra Frozen Foods in Batesville. After retirement she did in home child care for many years where she dearly loved and cared for the children who attended. She enjoyed spending time with her family and had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. She also loved spending time with her sweet little dog Rocky and enjoyed flower gardening. After moving to Batesville in 1970 she became an active member of the Rehobeth Baptist Church in Moorefield where she taught Sunday School, was a nursery worker, a discipleship training director and a WMU member, just to mention a few. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ancel B. Prince, a daughter, Paula A. Prince Hyde, four brothers, R. B. Martin, Dean Martin, H.B. Martin and Henry Martin, one sister, Pauline Martin Murdock and one grandson, Benjamin Prince. Survivors include one son, Kenneth R. Prince and wife Terri of Gaston, South Carolina, one daughter Angela Prince Conrad and husband Bobby of Conway, one brother, Roland Martin of Jacksonville, one sister, Delta Martin Isaac of Jacksonville, two grandchildren, K. P. Prince and Julia Prince both of Gaston, South Carolina, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be Monday, July 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rehobeth Baptist Church in Moorefield with Bro. Bob Womack and Bro. Charles Crowson officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery located at Cord with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 30, 2012 from 12:30 p.m. until service time at 2:00 pm. at the Church. Pallbearers will be Martin Isaac, Mark Isaac, Michael Isaac, Jerry Thurman, James Leggett and Jimmy Pool. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Conrad, Bill Isaac and Rocky Prince. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Angel Fund c/o Watson Creek Veterinarians, 5250 White Drive, Batesville, AR 72501, Phone: 870-612-5250.
