Edward Stephens, age 71 of Pleasant Plains died Sunday, August 5, 2012 at his home. He was born November 5, 1940 at Pleasant Plains, Arkansas to Coy Thomas and Vina Evelene Martin Stephens. He worked as a truck driver for many years having driven for Arkansas Poultry in Batesville and Freshour Construction Co. Incorporated, Arkansas. He enjoyed camping, taking drives and going to Branson. He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents, N. A. Martin and Mabie Martin and Ed and Mae Stephens. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Doris Stephens of the home, one son Dave Thomas Stephens and wife Stacy, two daughters, Cindy Carol Ciamaricone and husband Frank all of Pleasant Plains and Chrystal Gail Durham and husband Curtis of Batesville, his mother Vina Evelene Stephens of Pleasant Plains, one brother Linis Stephens and one sister, Veheda Griffin both of Pleasant Plains, six grandchildren, Samantha Stephens of Batesville, Emily Stephens, Colton Stephens and Noah Stephens all of Pleasant Plains, Seanna Durham and Braxton Durham both of Batesville, several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Pleasant Plains with Darrell Sellers officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Grove Cemetery located in Pleasant Plains with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Pallbearers are Brandon Windland, Bill Scrogins, Lloy Gilbert, Robert Galligher, Leo Reves and Ronnie Martin. Honorary pallbearers are Bradley Windland, Colton Stephens, Noah Stephens and Braxton Durham.
