Merle Rutledge Seuberth

Merle Rutledge Seuberth age 86 of Batesville, Arkansas, passed peacefully with her family beside her bed on August 31,2012 at 5:30 a.m. She was born July 26, 1926 at Huff, Arkansas, the eighth child of Obed and Rachael Rutledge. She was preceded in death by her six siblings, Les, Gene, George, Ann, Mack, and Bertha; and twin brother, Bill. Merle is survived by her daughters, Phyllis Barber and husband Laddie, Becky McDaniel and Linda Paulsen; grandchildren, Felicia Racey and husband Jim, Scotty Hix, Jennifer Sanchez and husband Javier; great gandchildren, Paul and Austin Racey, Zachary, Haley and Levi Hix, Alexis Massey, Belen and Benjamin Sanchez. She is also strvived by Laddie's family, Pat Barber and wife Charity and children Jadyn, Eliana and Judah and Jena Wagner and husband Chris and children Lauren, Jack and Caroline; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins;and many friends. Merle was an active member of Rehobeth Baptist Church in Moorefield for 60 years, She was a nurse at Allen's Hospital, Dr. Gray's Hospital and for Dr. Bob Slaughter for 37 years. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club and a 50 year member of Eastern Star, having served as Worthy Matron and Vermont Representative. She was also active in Bethesda Home Demonstration Club. Funeral services will begin Monday September 3,2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Rehobeth Baptist Church in Moorefield with Bro. Norman Clayton officiating. Burial will follow in the Oaklawn Cemetery located at Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Sunday, September 2,2012 from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Rehobeth Baptist Church, 65 Ham Street, Batesville, AR 72501. Pallbearers will be Scotty Hix, Jim Racey, Javier Sanchez, Paul Racey, Zachary Hix, Austin Racey, Benjamin Sanchez and Levi Hix.
