Robert "Bob" Lashley

Robert “Bob” Lashley age 82 of Evening Shade died Friday August 31, 2012 at his home. He was born October 1, 1930 at Sitka, Arkansas to Robert Lee and Julia Hoffman Lashley. He was a retired Sgt. Major from the United States Marine Corp having served in Korea and Vietnam. After retiring from the military, he served as a deputy for the Miller County and Sharp County Sheriff’s Departments. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church at Evening Shade. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Freda Lashley; one son, Eddie Eugene Lashley; one brother, Jesse Lashley; two sisters, Janie Jones and Laura Nelson and a grandson, Robert Vance Lashley. Survivors include one son, Bobby Lashley and wife Katherine of Texarkana, Arkansas; one brother, Phil Lashley of Poughkeepsie, five sisters, Brenda Michaels of Corinth, Mississippi, Alma Roberts of Petal, Mississippi, Jo Dunn of Memphis, Tennessee, Georgia Cates of The Lake of the Ozarks and Juppie Joiner of Dalton Georgia; five grandchildren, Sonja Lashley, Rebecca Lashley, Marcus Lashley, Demarius Lashley and Katie Lashley all of Texarkana, Arkansas; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Thursday September 6, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church at Evening Shade with Bro. John Deaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Campground Cemetery at Evening Shade with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will begin Wednesday September 5, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
