Darcel Griffin age 80 of Sidney died Tuesday September 4, 2012 at his home. He was born August 26, 1932 at Sidney, Arkansas to Mitt and Ruth Griffin. He was a farmer and a member of the Sidney Baptist Church. He enjoyed St. Louis Cardinals baseball, fishing, hunting, gardening, raising watermelons and peddling produce. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant twin siblings. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Robbie Tomlinson Griffin of the home; one son, Dennis Griffin and his wife Linda of Springfield, Missouri; one daughter, Lanell Griffin Stewart of Columbia, South Carolina; two grandsons, Jeremy Griffin and his wife Sara of New York, NY and Eric Griffin and his wife Marissa of Springfield, Missouri; one great granddaughter, Kyra Griffin and one great grandson, Kai Griffin both of Springfield, Missouri; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Friday September 7, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sidney Baptist Church in Sidney with Bro. Doyne Robertson and Bro. Alvin Wiles officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery located at Sidney with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will begin Thursday September 6, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Griffin, Eric Griffin, Michael Tomlinson, Tim Bradley, Rayburn Finley and Zack Simmons. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Stidman, Delmus Caraway, Roy Mynatt, Royce Slade, Boyce Foreman, Steve Miller and Russell Tomlinson.
