Lorena Simpson age 95 of Poughkeepsie died Tuesday September 25, 2012 at Jacksonville. She was born February 5, 1917 at Poughkeepsie, Arkansas to A.G. and Ada Freeman Smith. She was retired from Burroughs in Plymouth, Michigan. She was a member of the Little Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Poughkeepsie and a member of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard R. Simpson and two brothers, Vernon Smith and Ransom Smith. Survivors include one son, Gaylon S. Simpson and his wife Alice of Sherwood; one brother, Thurman Smith of Springdale; two grandchildren, Glenn R. Simpson of Little Rock and Rebecca S. Heimlich and her husband Phil of Loveland, Ohio; four great grandchildren, Justin Simpson, Alexa Simpson, Henry Heimlich and Allie Heimlich; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Saturday September 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Little Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Poughkeepsie with Bro. W.E. Norris and Bro. Sammy Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the Spotts Cemetery located at Poughkeepsie with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
