Donald Leon McSpadden

Don McSpadden Donald Leon “Don” McSpadden age 72 of Cave City died Saturday December 1, 2012 at a Batesville hospital. He was born September 18, 1940 to Thomas Earl and Georgia “Rowlett” McSpadden in Bethesda, Arkansas. He was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City. He served in the National Guard for ten years. He was past master of the Curia Creek Lodge #144. Don was a 36 year member of the Rocky Bayou Hunting Club and loved to share his many hunting stories with family and friends. He was a mechanic for 40 years with John Deere Corporation and the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. As a grandfather, he enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in sports and many other activities. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Mary Jane “Kerr” McSpadden of the home; three sons, Scott McSpadden and his wife Stacie, John McSpadden and his wife Jennifer all of Cave City and Mike McSpadden of Highland; nine grandchildren, Heath McSpadden and wife Courtney, Ethan McSpadden, Tyler Woods and wife Arleigh, Tristian McSpadden, Hayden Woods, Cheyenne McSpadden, Garrett McSpadden and wife Whitney, Marina McSpadden and Matthew McSpadden; two great grandchildren, Baylee Lewis and Paxten Woods; three sisters, Betty Magness of Batesville, Helen Herb of Nevada and Velma Gould of Conway; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Wednesday December 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City with Bro. Ron Canard and Keith Kerr officiating. Burial will follow in the Cave City Cemetery with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will begin Tuesday December 4, 2012 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City. Pallbearers will be Heath McSpadden, Ethan McSpadden, Tyler Woods, Tristian McSpadden, Hayden Woods, Garrett McSpadden and Matthew McSpadden. Honorary pallbearers are Marina McSpadden, Cheyenne McSpadden, Baylee Lewis and Paxten Woods.
