Winfred D. “Wink” Sturch age 93 of Batesville died Friday December 7, 2012 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was born January 25, 1919 at Salado, Arkansas to Hubert and Nora Evans Sturch. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, retired from International Shoe Factory in Batesville, having worked in maintenance and as a carpenter. He was a member of the Allen Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Wilford Sturch and Willard Sturch. Survivors include his wife, Opal Staggs Sturch of the home; one son, Keith Sturch of Batesville; four daughters, Sheila Sturch and Shari Reinheardt both of Batesville, Kim Ferguson of Simi Valley, California and Lisa Bigger of Marion; two sisters, Mary Beth Bowen of Southside and Sue Bullard of McHue; six grandchildren, Eric Pueblo of St. Louis, Missouri, Erin Pueblo of Hanover, Maryland, Hannah Sturch of Batesville, Krista Pueblo of Camp Humphreys Army Base, South Korea, Haley Bigger of Marion and Matthew Reinheardt of Batesville; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Sunday December 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Allen Chapel Free Will Baptist Church located at Southside with Bro. Tim Landers officiating. Burial will follow in the Egner Cemetery located near Salado with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will begin Saturday December 8, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Bill Barker, Fred Denison, Larry Richardson, Jeff Stubbs, Danny Trail and Kevin Watkins. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Ron Bates, Charlie Wade, Cody Thomas, Tommy Thomas, Coy Vaughn Staggs and Rodney Harris.
