Alma Lassiter age 104 of Cave City died Monday December 31, 2012 at the Cave City Nursing Home. She was born November 6, 1908 at Cave City, Arkansas to Moss and Georgeann Cathey Montgomery. She was a homemaker and had worked at the Cave City School cafeteria for several years. She was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ervin Lassiter; one son, Paul Lassiter; three brothers, John Montgomery, Jude Montgomery and Bill Montgomery and four sisters, Berniece Story, Molly Johnson, Monelle Roach and Mildred Hastings. Survivors include one son, Calvin Lassiter of Cave City; one daughter, Barbara Penn of Cave City; one sister, Audrey Roach of Cave City; three grandchildren, Becky Marlin, Greg Penn and Michael Lassiter all of Cave City; seven great grandchildren, Brandon Penn of Batesville, Amy Koch of North Carolina, Mandy Roach of Cherokee Village; Travis Penn, Kaitlyn Penn, Bevin Marlin and Ashley Lassiter all of Cave City; eight great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Wednesday January 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Bro. Ron Canard officiating. Burial will follow in the Cave City Cemetery located at Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will begin Tuesday January 1, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Michael Lassiter, Greg Penn, Brandon Penn, Travis Penn, Bevin Marlin and Ditzler Roach. Honorary pallbearers are Donald Hastings, Dean Hastings, Jeral Hastings and Mack Roach.
