Donald Ray Bradford age 76 of Evening Shade died Saturday January 5, 2013 at a Jonesboro hospital. He was born February 17, 1936 at Mountain View, Arkansas to David Ray and Julia Chambers Bradford. He was retired from Ford Motor Company in Milipitas, California after 36 years of service and was a member of the UAW. He had also worked for Smith’s Pest Contol in Evening Shade for 10 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve serving six years as a communications specialist. He was past Post Commander of the Evening Shade VFW. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Patsy Ruth Kay Hoke Bradford; one brother, Jerry Bradford and one sister, Jondena Like. Survivors include one son, Darien Bradford of Fort Myers, Florida; one brother, Billy Wayne Bradford of Kansas City, Missouri; one grandson, Kyle Bradford of Batesville; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Friday January 11, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with his nephew Pastor Dane Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt Carmel Cemetery located at Sidney with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will begin Thursday January 10, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
