Robert L. Sanders age 66 of Batesville died Friday January 4, 2013 at a Little Rock hospital. He was born June 4, 1946 at Batesville, Arkansas to Obert Carl and Mabel Defrice Sanders. He was a Master Machinist having owned Basic Manufacturing Company Inc. in Jonesboro. He was a former Cubmaster for Cub Scout Pack 51 in Batesville and a former Deputy Sheriff for Independence County. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and animals. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Batesville. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Sharon Stroud Sanders of the home; two sons, Bill Sanders and wife Annie Macy of San Francisco, California and Glen Sanders and wife Debbie Sanders of Batesville; five grandchildren, Travis Lowe and Wyatt Lowe both of California, Jason Mead and Samuel Mead both of Batesville and Aymee Flood of Steele, Missouri; six great grandchildren, Madeline Mead, Isabelle Mead, Justin Anderson, Ayden Mead, Grace Layman and Terra Rose and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services will begin Tuesday January 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Campground Cemetery located at Bethesda with Rev. Ben Ryan and Rev. J.W. Roach officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will begin Monday January 7, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the First Free Will Baptist Church located on Matlock Rd. in Cave City. Visitation for the family to begin at 5:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Bill Sanders, Glen Sanders, David McTigue, Brian McTigue, Steve Harmon and Jorge Ruben. Honorary pallbearers are Terry Bradley, Lynn Brogdon, Roger Brown, Paul Don Carter, Sky Clark, Jeremy Conyers, Delbert Fowler, Tommy Henderson, Charles Matlock, Jeff Morris, Floyd O’Neal, James Pittman, Ron Ross, Danny Smith, Ronnie Smith, Gene Smithee, Harold Smithee, Jason Sturgeon, Greg Taylor, Don Tomlinson, Tom Tucker, Greg Wilson and Vaughn Wisdom.
