Avner “Sonny” McBride age 65 of Rosie died Friday February 1, 2013 at his home. He was born November 15, 1947 at Batesville, Arkansas to Avner and Adrienne Martin McBride. He was a brick and stone mason, a farmer and an avid hunter. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his mother and an infant sister, Norma McBride. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Janie Payne McBride of the home; two sons, Billy McBride and his wife Jennifer of Southside and Kenny McBride and his wife Missy of Fairhope, Alabama; his father and step-mother, Avner and Virginia McBride of Rosie; one brother, Sammy McBride of Rosie; three sisters, Carolyn Bowers of Southside, Elaine Tarpley of Rosie and Judy Ferrell of Bethesda; nine grandchildren; one great grandchild; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Tuesday February 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Maple Springs Missionary Baptist Church at Maple Springs with Bro. Curt Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Wyatt Cemetery located at Rosie with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will begin Monday February 4, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Maple Springs Missionary Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Ethan McBride, Matthew McBride, Bradley McBride, Jeffery McBride, Barry McBride, Steven Gould, Eric Sherberth and Kirk Payne. Honorary pallbearers are Stephen Payne, Chris Payne, Buddy Tarpley, Mark Boyett, Jared Richardson, Chase McBride, Tommy McBride, Robbie Fox, Jacob Fox, Dr. Rick Van Grouw and Dr. Ron Bates.
