Billy Dale Powell age 68 of Horseshoe Bend died Sunday February 3, 2013 at a Salem nursing home. He was born July 10, 1944 at Biggers Reyno, Arkansas to William Rex and Jessie Jewell Ingram Powell. He was a retired truck driver and had worked at Wal-Mart in Ash Flat. He enjoyed coaching summer baseball and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Ralph Hall Sr.; one daughter, Rebecca Powell and one brother, Sandy Hall. Survivors include his wife, Patsy Henry Powell of the home; his first wife Janet Powell of Ash Flat, the mother of his children Steve and Michelle; two sons, Steve Powell of Ash Flat and Michael Brashear of Oxford; three daughters, Michelle Taylor of Highland, Debbie Young of Salem and Kelly Brashear of Highland; one brother, Ralph Hall Jr. of Hardy; 14 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Wednesday February 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Crossroads Baptist Church located at Ash Flat with Bro. Henry Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the Wiles Cemetery located at Ash Flat with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until service time at the Crossroads Baptist Church at Ash Flat. Pallbearers will be Steve Powell, Mike Brashear, Rusty Taylor, Austin Davis, Jordan Powell,Gregory Mullins,Ray Young and Dalton Young.
