John M. Westmoreland

John M. Westmoreland age 79 of Sherwood died Thursday February 7, 2013 at Little Rock. He was born October 24, 1933 at Sidney, Arkansas to W.J. And Glenna Faye Finley Westmoreland. He was retired from the Arkansas State Police and also retired from ABF Freight in Little Rock as Safety Director. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock, the Arkansas State Police Retirees Association and the Curia Creek Masonic Lodge #144 in Cave City. He was a preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Barbara Westmoreland Fowler. Survivors include his wife Nina Westmoreland of the home; two sons, Blake Westmoreland(Kay) of Sherwood and Mark Westmoreland(Amy) of Maumelle; six grandchildren, Justin Westmoreland of Norman, Oklahoma, John Michael Westmoreland of Nacogdoches, Texas, Kristen Holland of Benton, Christopher Westmoreland of Sherwood, Rachael Hildebrand and Laura Hildebrand both of Little Rock; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Saturday February 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Immanuel Baptist Church Chapel located at 501 N. Shackelford in Little Rock with Pastors Gary Hollingsworth and Justin Westmoreland officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church. A graveside service will be held following services in Little Rock at 3:30 p.m. at the Mt Carmel Cemetery located in Sidney. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Pallbearers will be Sam Cates, Jim McFarlin, Larry Parrish and his nephews.
