Sandra Kay Self

Sandra Kay Self age 48 of Cave City died Thursday February 28, 2013 at a Little Rock hospital. She was born July 12, 1964 at Phoenix, Arizona to Clarence and Patsy Sue Wortman Thornton. She had worked at Granny’s Restaurant and the Cave City Nursing Home both in Cave City. She was a member of Soul’s Harbor Pentecostal Church in Cave City. She was preceded in death by her mother, Patsy Sue Fears; her stepfather, Don Fears and a brother, Rickey Eugene Thornton. Survivors include her husband, Edward Self of the home; two daughters, Cassie Coates of Poughkeepsie and Peggy Curtis of Sidney; her father and stepmother, Clarence and Janice Thornton of Joshua, Texas; three brothers, Darren Thornton of Judsonia, Scott Davis of Little Rock and Marty Thornton of Joshua, Texas; one sister, Lana Norris of Cave City; one granddaughter, Joshlynn Curtis of Sidney; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Tuesday March 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Soul’s Harbor Pentecostal Church in Cave City with Bro. Sam Manuel officiating. Burial will follow in the Marvin Cemetery located at Nelsonville with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will begin Monday March 4, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home in Cave City. Pallbearers will be Billy Norris, David Lay, Chase Gorman, Roger Wilson, Shaun Willis and Laddy Norris. Honorary pallbearers are Alan Coates, Josh Curtis and Marty Thornton.
