Bill Austin

Bill Austin age 68 of Newark died Saturday May 11, 2013 at a Searcy hospital. He was born September 15, 1944 at Cord, Arkansas to Roe and Ruth Maxwell Austin. He was retired from GenCorp Automotive and had been owner/operator of Bill’sVending. He had been a member of the Newark Chamber of Commerce, the Newark City Council and the Batesville Jaycees. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Newark, having taught Sunday School for ten years. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Nina Snyder Austin of the home; one son, Don Austin and his wife Wanda of Siloam Springs; one daughter, Donna Smith and her husband, Don of Batesville; one step-son, Keith Porter and his wife Lindsey of Salado; two sisters, Bobbie Richardson and her husband A.R. of Clermont, Florida and Ann Higgins and her husband Jerry of Fennville, Michigan; four grandchildren, Shelby Clark, Tristan Lee, Kiersten Lee and Josh Rea; four great grandchildren, Mason Clark, Chloe Clark, Haley Rea and Breanna Rea; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services will begin Tuesday May 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Blue Springs Cemetery located at Newark with Bro. Bill Goodwin officiating. Arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will be Monday May 13, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Honorary pallbearers are Bob Morrison, Phillip Morrison, Jerry Shaw, Brian Barber, Robert Moore, Larry Magness, Duane Pearson, Larry Langston and Jimmy Neal Austin.
