Delois Burge age 62 of Cave City died Thursday June 20, 2013 at the White River Medical Center in Batesville. She was born February 17, 1951 at Batesville, Arkansas to Truman E. and Eunice O. Brashers Burge. She was a retired special education teacher with 40 years of service. She spent the majority of her teaching career with the Batesville School District. She was a member of the National Education Association, the Arkansas Education Association, Delta Kappa Gamma Teacher Honor Society and the Batesville Kiwanis Club. She was also a District Coordinator for Special Olympics. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Martha Burge. Survivors include one sister, Ramona Stoneham of Batesville; several cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City with Justin Burge officiating. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery located at Cave City with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will begin Saturday, June 22, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m Pallbearers will be Bill Brashers, Bill Trial, Blake Goodman, Paul Barrett, Roy Goodman and Randy Eckley. Honorary pallbearers are the nurses at White River Medical Center and all of her students.
