Doris Johnson age 89 of Batesville died Thursday June 27, 2013 at a Batesville nursing home. She was born November 26, 1923 at Batesville, Arkansas to Walter and Roxie Brokaw Kersey. She had worked for Sterlings and Barnett Brothers Department Store both in Batesville. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Batesville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles L. Johnson; four brothers, Paul Kersey, Dempsey Kersey, Jim Kersey and Carl Kersey and two sisters, Sarah Shy and May Tackett. Survivors include one son, Larry Johnson of Batesville; two grandsons, Michael Johnson and Kevin Johnson both of Batesville; four great grandchildren, Austin Johnson, Taryn Beard, Hallie Kramer and Cody Kramer all of Batesville; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Sunday, June 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel in Batesville with Rev. Jeff Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee’s Chapel Cemetery located on Hwy. 25 in Batesville with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Visitation will Sunday June 30, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Pallbearers will be Junior Miller, Bryan Dickey, Dustin Hubbard, Lee Earnheart, Jeremy Robertson and Ed Thompson. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Robert Walton and the Staff at Woodlawn Nursing Home.
