Norma J. Preston Whitmire

Norma J. Preston Whitmire age 85 of Cave City died Friday July 26, 2013 at a Batesville hospital. She was born November 29, 1927 at Three Sands, Oklahoma to Gus Isaac and Myrtle Edna Turner Brock. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church at Cave City. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Dexter E. Preston and Jackson Whitmire; two brothers, G.W. Brock and Henry Brock and one sister, Nadine Proffitt. Survivors include two sons, Ronald D. Preston of Paragould and Darron Eugene Preston of Calico Rock; one daughter, Ima Jean Hutchins of Cave City; two brothers, Ralph Brock of Tuckerman and Ernest Brock of Scott City, Missouri; two sisters, Mary Fincher of Tennessee and Nancy Moore of Missouri; eight grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; twenty seven great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will begin Tuesday July 30, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City with Bro. Ron Canard officiating. Burial will follow in the Ward Cemetery located at Strawberry with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Visitation will begin Monday July 29, 2013 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Qualls Funeral Home Chapel in Cave City. Pallbearers will be Heath Preston, Robert Hutchins, Randy Hutchins, Kyle Bradford, Bobby Cummings, Johnny Butler and James Bennett.
