Beatrice M. Childers Cox

Beatrice M. Childers Cox age 82 of Batesville (formerly of Wynne) died Thursday August 8, 2013 at a Batesville hospital. She was born February 14, 1931 at Fort Riley, Kansas to Roy and Margaret Wood Childers. She was a long time member of the Wynne Church of Christ in Wynne and most recently a member of the Harrison Street Church of Christ in Batesville. She was a member of many community organizations including: Fair Oaks Homemakers Club, Cross County Rice Committee and Miss Cross County Rice Selection Committee. She was a wonderful and loving housewife and mother. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 42 years, Harold E. (Sonny, Swifty) Cox and her only daughter, Teri Coleen “Collie” Cox. Survivors include one son, Danny E. Cox and wife Tamara J. (Tammy) Cox of Batesville; one sister, Betty Jones and her husband Willard of Greeley, Colorado; three grandchildren Danna Magness and husband Brandon of Batesville, Kevin Cox and wife Amy of Worcester, Massachusetts and Joshua Cox of Fayetteville; two great grandchildren, Avery Magness and Deaton Cox; ; a brother-in-law, Dr. James L. Cox of Colorado; two nieces and two nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held Sunday August 11, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Qualls Batesville Funeral Service in Batesville. Funeral services will be held Monday August 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wynne Church of Christ with Fred Strasser officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in the Cogbill Cemetery located at Wynne with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service of Batesville. Pallbearers will be J.M. Wilson, Claude Brawner, Kevin Cox, Josh Cox, Stewart Kennon and Nevil Boone. Honorary pallbearers are Homer Kennon, Dr. Greg Neaville, Larry May, Benson Hardaway and Fred Arnold.
