Gene Ardell Caraway age 78 of Waskom, Texas went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on August 21, 2013. He was born January 9, 1935 at Sidney, Arkansas to Eulus Franklin and Elsie Artie Rush Caraway. He was retired from AEP Swepco as a Journeyman Lineman after 42 years of service. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force and in the U.S. Army. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Mary Caraway; son, Russell Caraway and wife, Jamie and their children, Holland and Katherine of Texarkana, AR; daughter, Sherry Caraway of Fort Worth, TX; great-grandchildren, Ty and Truitt Caraway; stepsons, James Dowden and wife, Dee, John Kirk and wife, Linda, Donald Papenfus; grandchildren, Brittany, Shanna, Noah and Cynthia Dowden, Chad Jonah Dowden, Mary Kirk Hill, Jonathan Kirk, Alana Papenfus; great-grandson, Mason Davis; brothers, Delmus Caraway and wife Verbal and Myron Caraway; sisters, Nona Lawhon and husband, Charles and Donna Caraway; sister-in-law, Dorothy Caraway; sisters in-law, Estell Ebarb, Elsie Galbraith, Stella Wright, Charlene Suman and husband, Dale, Dell Malone and husband, Robert, brothers-in-law, Jimmy Wright and Albert Wright and wife, Brenda; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday August 24, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sidney Baptist Church in Sidney with Rev. Franklin Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery located at Sidney with arrangements by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City. Pallbearers will be James Dowden, Brent Martin, Colby Martin, Frank Estes, Bill Cook and Tommy Hadaway.
